⊰⊱   The demon busied himself in making her a cup of tea anyway. He wasn’t good at the awkward moments. and she seemed as if she would be rambling like this for a long time. But he did stop to reflect once she’d finish. “Sometimes… It is hard to see the one’s we love as anything but perfect…You would not be stupid to do that…even I have been victim to that thinking” He said hoping it might console the girl if a demon as powerful as himself had suffered like her. “And you will want to see him…. You will want answers eventually” He added moving to hand her the tea, before seating himself beside her. “I added some whiskey… to help warm you” he said nodding to her cup.

{ * } - Her brown eyes just moved to glance down at the floor before taking the cup of tea in her hand - immediately raising it to her full lips as she took a sip; he was right, the whiskey definitely did help her feel warm. She didn’t want to talk about the situation anymore - she really didn’t. She didn’t want to talk about Nysos. She didn’t want to talk about Elouise. She just wanted to forget it, forget everything. If only it was that easy. She couldn’t help but wonder… Nysos had slept with her best friend, wouldn’t sleeping with his be the perfect revenge? No. God, no. She wasn’t like that at all - she wasn’t that kind of girl. She looked at Zel for a moment before looking back down at the cup in her hand, shifting so that she was seated closer to him. She could try it though, couldn’t she? Just test the waters. Leaning in, the petite goddess pressed her lips against his - just a small kiss, nothing more before pulling back. She wasn’t quite sure how he’d react.

Summer Wind || James & Megan

The girl was nervous - well, that was a definite understatement. Her heart was pounding heavily in her chest, she wasn’t even quite sure if she would be able to speak - and if she tried, she feared that nothing but nonsense would fall past her full lips; rambling, stuttering - words that would make her sound unintelligent or unkind. Megan had never been this nervous, no - never. Sure, James gave her a constant feeling of fluttering in the pit of her stomach, her cheeks always flushing red while she was around him. But this - this was a whole new form of nerves; she was about to meet his parents for the first time and although she was excited, she was equally just as terrified.

"Maybe this isn’t a good idea," she stated to the blonde. The brunette’s hair in perfect curls - a few strands of her long locks pinned back to keep them from falling in front of her face. "What if they don’t like me?" She questioned. God, the girl had spent the entire morning getting ready for this - picking out the perfect dress to wear, something that looked nice but wasn’t too formal or expensive looking - the last thing she wanted to do was look like a snob. It’s strange how one can spend so much time preparing for something but they still felt as if they weren’t prepared at all. "Maybe we should just go and do something else?"

Laughing quietly as she took off in a run, he shook his head and took off after her tossing his blaser onto one of the sideshow booths as he ran past one. “Cheater.” James teased, as he kept his gaze locked on her. Of course he wasn’t running as fast as he could—James was probably the definition of ‘in shape’ when it came to running. He was constantly running away from those who caught him stealing so he’d gotten pretty good at running short and long distances at a fast pace. But he also wasn’t going to purposely let her win as well. “Where are we racing to?” James shouted as he began to catch up to her, another laugh spilling from his mouth as he spoke. It seemed that the fact that Megan had let go so easily  and loosened up never ceased to make him smile. He felt she deserved to have a good time, always forced to do as she was told while at home or on the job he was sure.

Megan laughed as she continued to run, turning her head slightly she noticed that he had almost caught up to her. Instead of answering his question of where they exactly they were racing to, more laughter fell from her lips as she ran as fast quickly as she could in the dress she was wearing. “Here.” She called out once she had reached the collapsed circus tent, already ensuring that she had won the race - she turned to look at James with a wide grin on her lips. “I won,” she exclaimed, bouncing up and down slightly from happiness.

James smiled brightly once she asked if she could meet them one day. He wasn’t sure why the question had caused such a reaction from him but he could see his parents absolutely loving Megan. He wanted her to meet them one day. James nodded. “Absolutely.” He replied. “That’ll be an adventure for another day.” A small laugh escaping him as he moved hair out of his eyes once more. It seemed his hair was constantly falling into his eyes. They were getting closer to the destination and soon they would be rounding the corner to where it was. It was slightly secluded, not many people came here anymore. It was slightly vandalized now but it still held quite a bit of beauty. It was an open field for the most part but what made it special was what laid in it. It was the remains of a circus that had unfortunately been brought to an abrupt end when I fire broke out. James wasn’t sure why no one came to clean it up but he was glad they hadn’t. “Here we are.” James motioned his hand in front of him, his blue eyes settling on the circus tents that were now fallen to the ground and the small sideshow booths that were somewhat still standing.

Megan couldn’t help the large grin that formed on her lips as he mentioned that she’d be able to meet his parents - she couldn’t wait for that day to come. “I look forward to it then,” she stated, it would be impossible for her words to be more genuine than they were. The moment they had turned the corner and he mentioned that they had arrived, the petite brunettes brown eyes soon moved from the man’s profile to look at what once was a circus laying in front of them. Her eyes immediately growing wider with excitement - she wanted to have an adventure. “I’ll race you,” she stated; not even giving the man enough time to respond before she was already running across the field.

Three’s A Crowd | Nysos, Meg, Elouise

[ ø ]—   The sound of impact made Nysos turn abruptly. His features from dispair to anger at the vampire. How dare she even think to touch his Meg. But then she spoke and he seemed to loose balance. Holy fuck. Nope this could not be happening. Meg had never said anything about her friend being a vampire. If she had, maybe he would have pieced two and two together. Now he just wanted to throw up. He could hear the breathing of the man on the other side of the door and all he wanted to do was snap the human’s neck in frustration.

“You mean this i-is your elouise?”He said with a hushed tone, almost afraid to bring any attention to himself given the events unfolding. His knees were weak, but he locked himself into place by leaning against the door and locking all joints. Either way he was expecting some kind of violence to befall him soon.

The moment the petite God’s words hit her ears the only color Elouise saw was burning red. Dropping the girl from her grips, neck craning behind her, taking in the actions of the man that she had thought was Daniel, the sharp fangs barring out at the word refused to be tucked in. “This,” the vampire gestured over to the obvious frightened man,”This is Nysos? He told me his name was Daniel.” The range inside the petite blonde was begging to be released but not at Megan, not at her best friend, but at the man she had trusted.

Turning foot, bare feet smacking on the ground below her, she marched over to the man she now knew as Nysos and punched him straight in the nose with all of the inhuman strength she could possess. How dare he turn her against her best friend and make her feel like she was the only person in his life when obviously that wasn’t true. “Yeah, I’m her Elouise, you fucking asshole. You were seeing us both, at the same time, are you serious right now? I should kill you where you stand,” the blonde growled out, balling her fists at her side.

{ * } - Megan felt her body hit the ground beneath her, almost too weak to move as she brought her hands up to the sensitive skin Elouise had just been tightly holding on to. “I’m so sorry, El,” she breathed - unsure if her best friend would even be able to hear her apology; she wasn’t even quite sure why she was apologizing - if anything she should have been furious, but the thought that she almost lost her best friend terrified her and if she had anyone to be mad at in this situation, it would be Nysos - he’s the one that betrayed them both.

Remaining on the floor, Megan continued to sob - watching the violence out fold in front of her before finally gathering up enough strength to rise to her feet. “I don’t want to be here,” she stated - continuing to watch her best friend and her now ex boyfriend through her tear filled eyes. “I want to go,” she whimpered once again; making her way towards the door.

⊰⊱   The demon wasn’t one for emotion, but Meg was a goddess and thus deserved respect at least. Though he was doing it for her benefit and not just his own. He understood what it felt like to have you heart shatter your world. He didn’t really want to see the young goddess go down the same path he did. She was far too good to end up bitter and twisted like he was.

“I’ll make you a coffee” He suggested as he lay her on the couch and headed around to turn on the kettle. He didn’t really know what to do now that she was here. Was he supposed to talk with her about it? Did he admit to knowing it was going on? He was sure that woman often flew off the handle when theyfound out friends had been with holding shit like that. So may just remain quite about the fact. “Sugar? Milk?” He said. Mundane questions, but hopefully they would get her thinking about something.

{ * } - Megan remained laying on the couch for a few moments, almost numb to the world around her before she shifted her small frame, sitting upright as she wrapped the jacket around her even tighter than it had been before. Nodding her head slightly as she turned to look at Zel, she knew that her gesture wasn’t much of an answer but it was all that the goddess seemed to be able to bring herself to do.

"God, I’m so stupid," she breathed, placing her face in the palms of her hands. "How didn’t I know that something was going on?" It seemed as if she was taking the entire situation out on herself rather than anyone else - she had always been that way though. "I loved him and now… Now I don’t think I ever want to see him again," she stated, careful not to speak Nysos’s name. She feared that it would only cause her to break down again.

“My family?” He started, glancing over at Megan only briefly before he took in a breath and shook the hair out of his face. “Well, for starters my father’s name is Harvey and my mother’s name is Virginia. I don’t have any siblings—but some of my friends are practically considered family. We live in the lower side of Manhattan. My mother and father are madly in love, they both work multiple jobs — we don’t have the best life, but I never complain. I like my life.” He shrugged and offered her a smile as they continued to walk alongside the road. He really did live simple yet complicated life. Of course he didn’t mention what he personally did to earn money for the family, he figured that he covered the basics though and he didn’t lie. He felt it would be pointless to lie, there really wasn’t a reason to, but of course he didn’t reveal all of the truth. “And if you’re curious, I look like my father—practically the spitting image as my mother likes to remind me.” A soft laugh escaped him, it was true though, he looked exactly like his father did when he was younger, and his mother would always tease and say that she was glad that James looked like Harvey because Harvey was the better looking one.

Megan couldn’t help but smile as James spoke of his family; how his friends were considered his brothers and sisters and how madly in love his parents were. It said a lot about the man that he didn’t have the best life but never complained, she respected him a lot for that - yet here she was; having everything anyone could ever want and still complaining, she felt horrible for that. “They sound lovely,” she stated with a smile, genuinely meaning her words. “Can I meet them one day?” She questioned, eyebrows raising slightly as her smile grew; the idea of meeting his mom and dad only made her more and more excited to spend more time with the man.

⊰⊱   The Demon felt saddened for the girl. He was well aware that she was planning to visit Nysos later on and he knew all too well it was only a matter of time before the truth of his little “experiments” came out. Still it was not the Demon’s place to meddle with those kinds of things. “Yes well Ido hope it goes well for you with him.” He said with great skill in hiding what he truly felt.

However the sad truth came out sooner rather than later, and soon enough Zel received a call from Nysos, worked up and flustered. He had been caught out that very night. However Zel was less interested in Nysos upon hearing Meg had run out. He was genuinely worried about the goddess. Assuming she had not taken her clothes, the Demon was well aware of how cold the girl would be. And so grabbing a large coat, he rushed out and sped towards the general area of The Bachae.

It wasn’t long until he found the girl down an alley. “Megara, take this” He said rushing forward and enclosing her in the coat. Her lips were a pale blue, and she looked positively dredful. “Come child” He said as he took her in his arms and rushed towards home.

{ * } - Everything was a blur to the young goddess, after she stormed out of Nysos’s apartment she didn’t know where she was supposed to go. She was lost. She wouldn’t go home - Nysos would be able to find her there, he was the last person she wanted to see; she never wanted to see the man again. He had broken her heart completely.

Wandering around for a while, she began to feel weak; all she wanted to do was curl up in a ball and cry. Stumbling down an empty alley, she sat down on the cold, hard ground - knees pulling in closely to her chest in an attempt to hide her petite frame that was only clothed in lingerie. Megan wasn’t aware of how much time had passed - she was cold, shaking and completely out of tears; she didn’t want to cry anymore anyway - he wasn’t worth her tears, not anymore.

Her head rested against her knees, she looked up to see Zel’s familiar face; her wide brown eyes that were once so filled with life were now dull, nothing but sadness could be found. As the man wrapped her in his jacket and picked her up off the ground to carry her to his home, she was positive that she cried into his chest, not saying a single word. She had nothing to say.

Standing there silently as he waited for her to admit this secret of hers, James almost expected her to say more than she did. Although honestly he could believe the secret. She seemed far happier doing these random things with him than she had at the party. But still he couldn’t help but feel sorry for her, she was still indeed famous and there probably wouldn’t be anything that she could do about it—one doesn’t simply stop being famous. Even if they’re no longer in the media, they were still in the public eye and she’d always be recognized. She had films, records—her name would always be there whether she liked it or not. His gaze dropped barely, unsure of what to say to that or if he should even say anything at all. He didn’t think he should, it wasn’t exactly something that one could effortlessly reply to so he kept his mouth closed until she mentioned that it was his turn. Taking in a breath, James smiled softly. “A secret about myself?” He paused, his brows furrowing in thought. He almost gave away the real reason for him being at her party but he didn’t in fear of her thinking that he was trying to steal from her. “I don’t have secrets. I’m quite the open book. You can ask me anything and I’m sure I’ll have a truthful answer.” He could be stepping on his own toes with that, but if she asked why he was at her party, he’d answer truthfully. “But, c’mon. Let’s walk and talk.” James smiled and motioned for her to follow alongside him as he led her to where they were going.

Megan appreciated the fact that James didn’t say anything about the secret she had told him - almost making a secret between the two of them that she had even said such a thing; they both knew but wouldn’t dare say another word on the subject of it. It was nice. The petite brunette knew for sure that if she had muttered her secret to anyone in the world other than James, they would have either given her unwanted sympathy or considered her selfish for having everything that she could ever want and still being unhappy with it. Megan could remember a time when she had told Louis in confidence that she didn’t want to be in a specific film - he went into a fit of rage and nearly slapped her; she couldn’t imagine his reaction if she would tell him what she had just told James - it was a thought that definitely terrified her.

Megan smiled at the thought of being able to ask James any question that she could think of and he would provide her with an honest answer; she wished that the people she spent time with on a daily basis were as truthful as he. “Okay,” she smiled, eyes fluttering to glance at the ground as she tried to think of a question for the man, continuing to walk by his side. “Tell me about your family?” She questioned, tilting her head to look at him with a smile.
